100 Jaar Heen & Terug is a series of interactive experiences created for Vilvoorde, a city with a rich industrial history. Centered around a 1920s red band saw near the Europe Bridge, the project invites participants to engage with this historical artifact in playful and poetic ways.
Through guided actions, spectators use their own devices to connect past and present, recreating gestures and leaving subtle traces for the future. In one experience, participants glide their hands over the band saw, imagining its form evolving through collective touch over time. In another, they mark a wall with stones, creating a shared timeline of visitors.
Inspired by the passage of time and the disintegration of the past, 100 Jaar Heen & Terug fosters curiosity and reflection, blending history with poetic moments to transform memory into a shared act of creation.
