Communauté Éphémère

2018

Communauté Éphémère is an Interactive Imagination Composition designed for one to four participants, exploring the intersection between physical space and mental construction.

Each participant is provided with headphones and a chair, placed randomly within the room. While the physical positioning feels unstructured, the experience gradually unfolds as the guiding voice leads each participant in building an imagined space. Over time, this mental room solidifies, even as the guiding voice dissolves into abstract sound, leaving behind a quiet resonance of individual and collective presence.

The juxtaposition between the fluid arrangement of bodies in space and the slow, deliberate formation of inner landscapes creates a delicate balance between structure and disintegration. As the composition progresses, participants drift between guided focus and moments where their mental spaces begin to unravel.

Communauté Éphémère features a carefully crafted audio track lasting about 20 minutes, accompanied by one to four chairs, transmitters, receivers, and headphones. Developed in collaboration with Robin Amanda Cresswell Faure, the work quietly dissolves into abstraction, leaving the imagined architecture fragile and fleeting.
