Quartet A

2019

Quartet A is an interactive imagination composition designed for four visitors. This work, situated around a mirror construction, invites participants to engage in a guided sensory and reflective experience.

Participants wear headphones as they move around a mirrored structure placed at the entrance of artistic houses or museums. Inspired by the infinite flow of stimuli in the digital world, the piece draws attention to the contrast between our algorithm-driven perceptions and fleeting moments of genuine connection. Through layered audio and reflective surfaces, visitors experience a choreographed interplay between sight, sound, and interaction.

The installation functions as an allegorical algorithm, connecting different layers of perception—sonic, visual, interactive, and filmed—through the recurring motif of the number '4'. Each participant occupies one side of the structure, encountering their reflection and glimpses of the others, suggesting the duality of isolation and shared experience in our digital lives.

Alongside the installation, Quartet A consists of several sketches on paper that highlight the different dimensions of the work—personal imagination, bodily compositions, the flow of bodies in space, interactive imagination compositions, and double mirror compositions. These sketches serve as visual explorations of the layered experiences embodied in the piece, bridging the conceptual with the tangible.
